Dodge Dart GT announced, heading to Detroit
Dodge has announced a more potent version of the Dart which will be making its public debut next week during the Detroit Motor Show. At the heart of the Dart GT is a 4-cylinder, 2.4-liter Tigershark MultiAir2 engine good enough for 184 hp and a peak torque of 174 lb-ft. It is important to mention that Dodge is planning a more powerful version of the Dart which will get the traditional R/T moniker. The Dart GT’s engine is linked to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard while for more money clients can get the car with the optional 6-speed auto. Compared to the regular model, the GT benefits from a sports suspension featuring frequency-sensing damping shocks.
The car rides on a fresh new set of 18-inch alloy wheels and can be distinguished from the regular model by the dual exhaust tips, black projector headlamp bezels and a sports front grille with black accents. Inside the cabin we find Nappa perforated leather seats in black with a ruby red stitching or can be specified with a two-tone black/ruby red look.
Standard features include a heated steering wheel, heated seats, power heated mirrors, ParkView rear backup camera, 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system and dual-zone automatic temperature control. Also included in the package are the ambient LED interior lightning, a seven-inch TFT reconfigurable cluster display and automatic headlamps.
The 2013 Dodge Dart GT is scheduled to go on sale in the United States in Q2 2013 at a base MSRP of $20,995, not taking into account the destination fee.
