Dodge rates Challenger SRT Hellcat at 707 bhp
Dodge has made an exciting announcement the other day, saying the 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat is going to be the “most powerful muscle car” ever made once it goes on sale later this year. Backing up that statement is a V8 6.2-liter supercharged engine which Dodge initially said that it would generate at least 600 bhp (447 kW). The final numbers are in and the powerful motor is going to produce no less than 707 bhp (527 kW) and a peak torque of 880 Nm (650 lb-ft), making it even more powerful than the Dodge Viper SRT.
No further details are available at this point but Dodge said that the 2015 Challenger SRT Hellcat’s full power will only be available when using a specially made red key fob while with the black key fob the engine’s output is going to be limited at “only” 500 bhp (372 kW).
