Dodge reveals 2014 Challenger R/T Shaker at SEMA
Dodge chose the SEMA show to introduce the 2014 Challenger R/T Shaker which is scheduled to hit dealerships at the beginning of 2014 for a starting price of $36,995. The special edition Challenger gets its inspiration from the classic Challenger R/T from 1970 and is distinguished by a body-colored front grille surround, satin black accents, as well as a so-called “shaker” hood. Other than that, Dodge has equipped the car with 20-inch alloys combined with Goodyear Eagle F1 Super Cup tires, as well as a glossy black fuel-filler door. Inside we find a flat-bottomed steering wheel, Nappa leather-wrapped sport seats and an individually-numbered dash plaque.
Under the hood there’s a V8 5.7-liter HEMI engine featuring a cold-air intake from Mopar, an optimized air box and a conical air filter. The model benefits from a sport suspension, better brake lines, new steering gear, three-mode electronic stability control system, monotube shock absorbers, along with a sport-mode powertrain calibration which is driver selectable.
