Fourth generation Kia Sportage teased

The fourth generation Kia Sportage is making its online debut in a series of teaser images. It will be unveiled next month at the Frankfurt Motor Show and Kia has decided to offer a glimpse of its compact crossover which will share the same platform with the new generation Hyundai Tucson. It will employ a different design compared to the outgoing model and will have aluminum front & rear underbody protection, new headlights with LED ice cube daytime running lights and a reinterpretation of the tiger nose grille. The teaser shows a set of oversized alloys, interconnected taillights and a subtle roof spoiler mounted at the back.

Stepping inside the cabin, the fourth generation Kia Sportage will be a mixture between the new Optima and Sorento, so the quality of the interior should greatly improve. From what we can see in the attached digital sketch, it will come with a flat-bottomed steering wheel, comfy seats with great lateral support, big touchscreen display for the infotainment system, along with a sizeable central armrest and red ambient lighting.

Sales of the 2016 Sportage should begin in Europe and South Korea shortly after Kia will introduce the car at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 17.
