Honda Fit Twist introduced
The Japanese carmaker Honda has brought to this year’s edition of the Sao Paulo Motor Show a tougher version of the Fit. This Twist edition represents the first car developed by Honda exclusively for the Brazilian market. As you can see from these official images, the car is wearing plastic cladding on both front and rear bumpers, as well as over the side sills and the wheel arches.
Other than that, it adopts a matte aluminum look for the protective guards, larger 16-inch alloy wheels, a new design for the front grille, darkened headlamps and updated taillights.
Except from the different upholstery, various chrome accents and the waterproof floor carpet in the boot area, nothing has changed inside the cabin of the Fit Twist in comparison to the standard model. What’s more disappointing is the fact that Honda’s engineers have not made any modifications to the settings of the suspension as the ride height is identical to that of the standard hatchback Fit.
Under the hood is the same 1.5-liter flex-fuel engine that generates 115 hp while running on gasoline or 116 hp when it runs on ethanol. This power unit is linked to a manual transmission or an automatic gearbox that sends the power to the front wheels.
It is expected to reach the Brazilian market at the end of the month and will have a base price tag of R$57,900, which represents a R$10,000 increase over the standard model.
