Jeep Compass (Euro-spec) to debut in Geneva

Jeep announced that in Geneva next week they will official reveal the European version of the 2014 Compass which as far as we can tell looks the same as its American counterpart. The car is programmed to go on sale on the old continent in Q2 2013 and will be available in three different trim levels, as follows: Sport, Limited and the brand new North model.

Jeep has also announced that the revised model has gained a six-speed PowerTech automatic gearbox, as well as front seat-mounted side airbags and a ParkView rear backup camera to help you while parking the vehicle.

Other goodies include keyless entry, fog lamps, power/heated exterior mirrors, cruise control, anti-lock disc brakes, hill-start assist and electronic roll mitigation.

There aren’t any confirmed details about the engine lineup but it’s pretty much safe to assume the 2014 Euro-spec Jeep Compass will be available with a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter gasoline mill with 158 hp and a larger 2.4-liter with 172 hp. On the diesel side, Jeep will probably decide to offer two versions of the 2.2-liter CRD power units, one generating 136 hp while the other can provide 163 hp.

We’ll find out exact engine lineup details next week when the car will get its public debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
