There is a new upgrade kit available for the pocket-rocket Renaultsport Twingo and it comes from United Kingdom-based tuner K-Tec Racing. Renault’s high-performance division launched the hot Twingo back in 2008 when they fitted the vehicle with a 1.6-liter naturally-aspirated engine rated at 131 bhp (98 kW) and 118 lb-ft (160 Nm) of torque. Now, the output of the engine has been bumped by K-Tec Racing to 163 bhp (121 kW) and 142 lb-ft (192 Nm) via a remapped ECU, high-performance tubular exhaust manifold and Cat Cams Stage 1 cams. As a result the car should hit 60 mph (96 km/h) quicker than the stock’s 8.7 seconds.
In addition, top speed of the Renaultsport Twingo by K-Tec Racing should be higher than the 125 mph (201 km/h) achieved by the standard model. You can get this additional oomph if you are willing to pay 2,625 pounds. The power boost comes with a one-year warranty and is compatible for all models built starting with 2008. K-Tec Racing says that upon request they are willing to sell these goodies individually.
