Mercedes-AMG teases C63 Coupe ahead of August 19 reveal
The Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe is back in a new set of teaser images prior to a full reveal programmed for August 19. Daimler’s latest and greatest high-performance coupe can be seen here in an official set of teasers depicting a fully camouflaged near-production prototype that comes with flared wheel arches and a sloped roofline while at the back there’s a large spoiler and a menacing quad exhaust system. Up front it sits on 255/35 ZR19 tires which are bigger than the ones on the sedan which measure 245/35 R19. It will be lower and sportier than the old version and will come with a lower center of gravity to enhance the coupe’s agility.
Under the hood will reside the same twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter engine pushing out 469 bhp and 479 lb-ft in the standard model and 503 bhp and 516 lb-ft in the S version. The latter should be able to complete the 0-100 km/h task in as little as 3.9 seconds before hitting an electronically-capped top speed of 290 km/h.
The 2016 Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe in standard and S specification will make their public debut in mid-September at the Frankfurt Motor Show alongside the entire C-Class Coupe range which is bound to go on sale before the year’s end.
