Mercedes-Benz joins forces with Airstream for the Autobahn high-end van
At a recent Mercedes-Benz Sprinter national dealer meeting, Airstream unveiled the luxurious Autobahn based obviously on the Sprinter. The heavily customized vehicle aims to set a “new standard in VIP travel” thanks to an entirely reworked interior cabin that draws its inspiration from high-end private jets. It boasts comfortable and luxurious seating for as much as eight people, with the six rear seats being heated and also featuring a power footrest. These seating positions also feature USB and 120V power outlets as well as a retractable desk.
The list of goodies goes on with dual refrigerators, wood flooring and a state-of-the-art entertainment setup encompassing a blu-ray player, Apple TV and a 32-inch LCD TV. Under the hood there’s a V6 3.0-liter turbodiesel engine generating 188 bhp and a maximum torque of 440 Nm.
The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter-based Airstream Autobahn carries a steep starting price of $133,024.
