Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG could be unveiled at L.A. Auto Show

Word around the internet is that Mercedes-Benz plans on showcasing the S65 AMG at the Los Angeles Auto Show which will be organized next month. The car is likely to make use of a V12 6.0-liter twin-turbo engine capable of outputting 621 bhp (463 kW) and a maximum torque of 999 Nm (738 lb-ft). As a result of this hardware setup, the S65 AMG sedan should run the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint in less than 4.5 seconds. The engine represents a new development of a V12 from Mercedes-Benz which is likely to power other high-end models as well in the near future.

The German automaker is also plotting an S600 version which should be released in January next year at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. This model will probably feature a de-tuned version of the aforementioned V12 so its output will be lower than the 621 bhp of the S65 AMG variant.
