Mercedes-Maybach S600 first images released
Mercedes-Benz has officially resurrected the “Maybach” moniker for a new derivative of the S-Class lineup which will sit on top of the range. Set to be even longer than the S-Class LWB, the version teased in these two official images will fill in the gap left after the demise of the Maybach sub-brand a few years ago. There won’t be any significant exterior styling tweaks as the changes will be limited to the longer rear doors, a modified C-pillar and probably some updates to the front grille while the “Maybach” lettering will be visible on the trunk.
The biggest modifications will be implemented inside the cabin where the Mercedes-Maybach S600 is going to provide more rear legroom, more customization options and two individual rear seats which will be electronically adjustable and will benefit from a reclining function.
Its heart and soul is probably going to be a twin-turbo V12 6.0-liter engine which in the regular S600 packs a 530 HP & 830 Nm punch. Mercedes-Benz’s engineers could decide to increase the engine’s output a little bit for this Maybach derivative which you can imagine that it will command a significant premium over the standard S600 long-wheelbase.
