MTM modifies Volkswagen Golf R to 360 HP
The Volkswagen Golf 7 R is now available with an upgrade program developed by the German aftermarket specialists from MTM. Under the hood of the hot hatchback is the same four-cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharged engine but it now develops an additional 60 HP and 70 Nm which means the output of the motor has risen to a grand total of 360 HP and 450 Nm. This significant power bump can be had for 2,055 euros which will reward the customer with the tuner’s M-Cantronic module.
After installing the upgrade, the Volkswagen Golf 7 R will sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.2 seconds, making it 0.7 seconds quicker than the standard version. The top speed has remained electronically-limited at 155 mph (250 km/h). For those willing to pay more, there are 19-inch rims shod in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires as well as an eight-piston brake caliper system equipped with 380×34 mm rotors.
A fully modified MTM Golf 7 R can be had for 54,875 euros.
