Opel launches 2013 Zafira Tourer BiTurbo
Opel has introduced a new version of the Zafira Tourer. It comes with a newly developed 2.0-liter CDTI BiTurbo engine which allows the model to be the “fastest diesel-powered seven-seater in the compact van segment”, a very bold statement made by the troubled German firm.
This mill produces 143 kW (195 HP) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque, which allows the family vehicle to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in a more than decent 8.9 seconds. From 80 km/h (50 mph) to 120 km/h (75 mph) it needs 8.5 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 135 mph (218 km/h), not too shabby for a German van.
Let’s not forget that we are still talking about a diesel despite the good performance figures so we should mention that the 2013 Opel Zafira Tourer BiTurbo has a fuel consumption of just 5.6 liters / 100 km (42 mpg US or 50 mpg UK). Along with this powerful diesel engine, Opel is selling the Zafira Tourer with three other diesels, as well as a choice of four gasoline engines. The car can also be ordered in a LPG or CNG Turbo variant.
It’s available on order from 35,405 euros in Germany, with deliveries commencing in April.
