Peugeot 2008 DKR breaks cover, heading to 2015 Dakar Rally
Peugeot is officially returning to Dakar Rally in January 2015 with a heavily modified 2008. The menacing 2008 DKR you see here has lost the rear doors and now comes with a significantly shorter front overhang to enable a high approach angle, very necessary when tackling the rough terrains part of the Dakar Rally. It has received massive 94 cm (37 inch) Michelin off-road tires and comes with a huge rear wing should this vehicle means business and will want to take the win next year with Carlos Sainz and Cyril Despres behind the wheel.
The vehicle will be officially showcased starting Sunday in China during this year’s edition of the Beijing Motor Show. Details about motorization will be provided then as for now we only know the car is going to adopt a two-wheel drive layout.
