Peugeot 308 GT announced with more power

Peugeot is introducing a more powerful GT version of the all-new 308 which will be available in both hatchback and wagon body styles. The vehicles are programmed to go on sale next month and will come with subtle visual revisions such as the lacquered black diffuser, a dual exhaust arrangement and LED headlights. In addition, Peugeot has decided to move the lion badge from the hood to the front grille while the suspension has been retuned and the acceleration pedal is now more responsive.

Motivation is provided by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder THP 205 engine generating 202 bhp and 285 Nm sent to the front axle through a 6-speed manual transmission. Clients can also go for the 2.0-liter four-cylinder BlueHDI turbodiesel rated at 178 bhp and 400 Nm coupled to an automatic gearbox. Peugeot has announced performance specifications for both engines will be announced next month at the Paris Motor Show.
