What we have here is truly a special car, a 1990 Mosler Consulier Targa LX, one of only 100 ever made. Mosler produced this model in a limited series of just 100 units between the years 1985 and 1993. This particular car can be found somewhere in Florida and has been driven for just 11,288 miles (18,166 km). It is one of the first production automobiles to have body panels made from both Kevlar and carbon fiber. Since this car has never been titled, we assume all those miles were made on a closed track. It’s available on eBay and currently bid has gone up to $18,000. Listing will expire on July 09, 2013.
It’s powered by a 2.2-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder Chrysler engine and benefits from a carbon fiber monocoque chassis developed in-house by Mosler. The power unit is mated to a five-speed Getrag 555 gearbox which enables the car to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) “in the five second range”. It will do the quarter mile in the “high 13s.”
