Scion has developed a special edition of the FR-S for the U.S. market that goes by the name of “Release Series 1.0”. Production is going to be limited to just 1,500 cars and all of them are going to receive a striking Yuzu yellow body paint together with a more aggressive aero-optimized body kit that will pack side fender garnish and a rear wing. These goodies are taken from Toyota Racing Development (TRD) who also installed a custom exhaust system with four tail pipes, as well as lowering springs bringing the coupe closer to the road.
The Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0 can be further distinguished by the HID headlamps, LED daytime running lights, bespoke cargo mat, dual-zone climate control, black seats and a brushed aluminum shifter surround plate. It will be available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Scion is asking less than $30,000 for this limited-run model which goes on sale in August. The price tag does not include the destination and handling fees worth $755.
