If you are the proud owner of a Vauxhall Astra VXR and you consider that it needs more power, you’re in luck as UK-based Superchips can sell you a two-stage upgrade kit for the hot coupe. Under the hood of the Astra VXR is a turbo 2.0-liter rated at 280 HP (206 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque, but with the stage one kit included you get an additional 23 HP (17 kW) and 61 Nm (45 lb-ft). If this sounds good, prepare to pay 455 pounds and make sure your car is built starting March 2012 since the kit is compatible only with models built from that date forward.
If the Astra VXR sitting in your garage has the Thorney Motorsport free-flowing exhaust system installed together with the sports catalyst, for the same amount of money you can install a Stage 2 ECU remap which will boost output by 32 HP (23 kW) and 75 Nm (55 lb-ft) to an impressive 312 HP (229 kW) and 474 Nm (350 lb-ft).
This upgrade should enable the Vauxhall Astra VXR to perform the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in less than the standard car’s 5.8 seconds. We should mention that the price tag includes VAT.
