Bentley has launched this week a slightly more powerful version of the Continental GT V8 Coupe and Convertible which has received the “S” designation. Output of the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine has been bumped by 21 bhp and 20 Nm, resulting in an increase from 500 bhp and 660 Nm to 521 bhp and 680 Nm. As a result, the coupe is now 0.3s quicker in the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) since it now needs just 4.5 to do the sprint, while top speed has been lifted from the previous 188 mph (303 km/h) to the new 192 mph (309 km/h).
The convertible V8 S will hit 62 mph in 4.7 seconds en route to a top speed of 191 mph (308 km/h). The coupe has a fuel consumption of 10.5 liters whereas the convertible drinks 10.9 liters for each 100 km covered. This new more potent S version brings a 10mm lowered ride height, retweaked dampers and stiffened front and rear spring rates. Other changes include a slightly modified front fascia and a fresh new set of 20-inch rims.
