Mercedes-Benz has recently added a new member to its growing S-Class lineup by introducing the S600 at NAIAS. The model is powered by a V12 6.0-liter twin-turbo gasoline engine outputting 530 HP and a maximum torque of 830 Nm. It also benefits from a start/stop system which enables the luxury German sedan to consume 11.1 liters / 100 km (21.1 mpg US or 25.4 mpg UK) which represents a very good figure taking into account we are dealing with a massive 12-cylinder engine. Mercedes-Benz says the model is programmed to hit dealerships in March and in the meantime they will disclose pricing details.
They did provide some additional details about the S600 such as the fact that it comes with Magic Body Control and is based on the long wheelbase variant. It also benefits from an LED Intelligent Light System and is bundled with a Driving Assistance Plus package encompassing Active Blind Spot Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, as well as BAS PLUS with Cross-Traffic Assist.
These are the first two official images with the upcoming 2015 Mercedes-Benz S600 programmed to be unveiled on January 13 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The vehicle doesn’t seem to bring any exterior changes except for the obvious S600 and V12 badges, while the back of the car features a quad exhaust arrangement. Chances are the vehicle will be offered only in the long wheelbase variant and will pack a variety of goodies such as a head-up display, Collision Prevention Assist Plus system and the firm’s proprietary Magic Body Control.
Under the hood it will have a V12 6.0-liter twin-turbo engine outputting 530 HP and 830 Nm of torque sent to both axles through a 7G Tronic Plus seven-speed automatic transmission enabling the S600 to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.6 seconds before topping out at an electronically-capped 155 mph (250 km/h).

German aftermarket specialist Brabus is back with a tuning kit for the previous generation of the Mercedes-Benz, specifically the S600 model. Known as the Dragon Edition, it will be available only in China and will feature gold dragon emblems on the side skirts, front fenders and front grille.
The interior cabin comes with bespoke floor mats, dark wood trim and premium leather upholstery. It also has gained embroidered dragons on the headrests, together with folding tray tables and a rear seat entertainment system for those long and boring trips.
Under the bonnet is a mighty V12 6.3-liter engine producing as much as 730 HP (573 kW) and a peak torque of 811 lb-ft (1,100 Nm) which has been electronically limited by Brabus. The 60 S Dragon Edition will do the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4 seconds, en route to a top speed of more than 186 mph (300 km/h).
