Tata Motors has unveiled a new electric concept that goes by the name of eMO-C and was developed mostly for delivery companies. This will remain strictly as a concept as it was created to be nothing more than an engineering study. They did mention that if ever put into production, the vehicle would have a starting price of approximately $15,750, which can go all the way up to $23,750. This concept is a continuation of the eMO EV concept which Tata showcased last year. It is designed to support three battery modules which offer a range of 80 km (50 miles), 160 km (100 miles) and 240 km (150 miles).
They also opened up a new engineering center in Detroit, Michigan at 800 Tower Drive, Suite 200. It spans on more than 10,000 sq. ft. and is the place where currently sixty engineering are working. By the end of 2013 this number will increase to 100. In charge of this team is Kevin Fisher.
