Here is what happens when you exit your car and leave the keys in it. The following video was recorder at a gas station (probably in Germany) where the driver of a Porsche 911 left his car open and with the keys in the ignition. A few seconds after the clip starts, an older-gen BMW M5 stop near that 911 and the passenger gets out. He then has a closer look at the 911 and notices that it’s open and with the keys in it. He returns to the M5 only for a second or two and then he decides to steal the 911.
Most likely, the unfortunate driver of that Porsche won’t get any money from the insurance company since usually these do not cover such cases where the owner leaves the keys inside.
