The aftermarket specialists at Vision of Speed have upgraded the BMW M550d xDrive high-powered diesel sedan. They focused on the six-cylinder 3.0-liter tri-turbocharged engine and managed bump its output from the stock 381 PS and 740 Nm to no less than 450 PS and 800 Nm. This will cost you €2,290, but if you don’t want to pay that much, there’s a €899 kit with custom downpipes that bumps output by 15 PS. At an additional cost, VOS has a set of AEZ 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped around in 245/35 R20 front & 275/30 R20 Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.
The list of upgrades doesn’t end here as Vision of Speed can install on your BMW M550d xDrive a set of Brembo brakes available at €2,695. Moreover, the high-performance diesel can be lowered by 35 mm thanks to a set of H&R Performance springs priced at €499.
Once all the upgrades are installed, the mid-size premium sedan from Bavaria will hit a top speed of more than 300 km/h (186 mph) whereas the standard M550d xDrive is electronically-capped at 155 mph (250 km/h). Chances are the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint has gone down considerably from the standard car’s 4.7-second time.
