Volkswagen brings Sport Coupe Concept GTE to Geneva Motor Show

Volkswagen has introduced in Geneva the very appealing Sport Coupe Concept GTE. Likely previewing the next generation CC, the concept takes the shape of a very stylish four-door coupe riding on the MQB platform and with the following dimensions: 4869mm length, 1864mm width and 1407mm height while the trunk can hold 480 liters. It benefits from a big 3020mm wheelbase and has 909mm front & 1120mm rear overhangs. It has been equipped with 21-inch alloys and comes with a panoramic sliding sunroof while the cabin adopts a simple and clean layout with few physical buttons & knobs.

Motivation of the Volkswagen Sport Coupe Concept GTE is provided by a plug-in hybrid setup mixing up a TSI V6 engine with a couple of electric motors granting a combined output of 380 HP (279 kW). It will need 5.2 seconds to complete the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) journey and will keep on accelerating until reaching a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
Volkswagen says the concept can be driven solely on electric power for as much as 31 miles (50 km) before running out of battery juice while used as a hybrid it has a total range of 620 miles (1,000), with the average fuel consumption standing at only 2 liters / 100 km.
