Morgan has taken the wraps off the 2014 Plus 4 which is now available with slightly more power. The vehicle comes with the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder Duratec gasoline engine but it has been tweaked and is now capable to deliver 154 bhp (115 kW) and 200 Nm (148 lb-ft) of torque, up from the previous 145 bhp (108 kW) and 190 Nm (140 lb-ft). Squeezing the additional power from the engine was done by remapping the ECU, a Morgan first.
Output is transferred to the wheels via a Mazda-sourced five-speed manual gearbox that enables the model to complete the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in approximately 7.3 seconds before topping out at 120 mph (193 km/h). The vehicle has maintained its 877 kg weight as its predecessor and will be offered with an updated VDO instrumentation, as well as a new dashboard layout and trim.
The 2014 Morgan Plus 4 has a starting price of 36,285 pounds.
