2014 BMW M5 with Competition Package announced
The 2014 BMW M5 has been revealed and is available with an optional Competition Package which will increase the output of the 4.4-liter V8 engine from the standard 560 HP to 575 HP. The mill is connected to a 7-speed M dual-clutch gearbox and an Active M Differential.
This optional package also includes carbon ceramic brakes, tuned stabilizer bars, revised suspension and damping systems, different 20-inch M wheels, new hydraulic rack-and-pinion steering, as well as 10mm lowered ride height. There’s also a new sport exhaust system that has dual M black chrome tailpipes.
The 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) is now done 0.1 seconds faster than before, while 0-124 mph (0-200 km/h) takes 0.2 seconds less than the standard M5. As of July, BMW will offer the M5 with several new exterior paint choices such as Pyrite Brown metallic, Frozen Blue metallic, Pure Metal Silver, as well as other new BMW Individual matt hues. For the interior the revised M5 also gets new leather shades, including Cashmere Beige and Nutmeg.
