2014 BMW Z4 revealed

BMW has prepared a subtle update for the Z4 which has arrived model year 2014. The first change that we notice on the roadster is at the front where the LED light rings on the headlamps have received a more attractive three-dimensional design. There’s also the “BMW” lettering located on the LED accent lights on top, while the surround for the side indicators has also been revised. In addition, customers are now able to order the Z4 with new choices of 17- and 18-inch alloys. The German brand is also throwing in a Hyper Orange package that can be acquired with three new colors called Valencia Orange metallic, Glacier Silver metallic and Mineral Grey metallic.

This recently introduced styling package offers an interior cabin in black leather and Alcantara with orange stitching, stripes, a high-gloss black for the door openers, selector lever or gearshift. There’s also an attractive metal trim for the dashboard, while on the exterior we see the high gloss black surrounds for the central air vents.

The models sold in the United States are offered with a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine that produces 240 hp – for the model sDrive28i. The sDrive35i gets a 6-cylinder, 3.0-liter engine pumping out 300 hp, while in the sDrive35is this engine develops 335 hp. For Europe and most likely other regions of the world, BMW will be offering a new entry-level in the form of the sDrive18i which has a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbo gasoline unit developing 154 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. It can be mated to either a standard six-speed manual or the optional eight-speed automatic gearbox.
