2014 Jaguar XJR uncovered

Jaguar has launched at the New York Auto Show this week the 2014 XJR which brings a new front bumper, revised aero side skirts, along with a spoiler mounted on the trunk. It rides on 20-inch forged alloys covered by Pirelli tires and has a four-tailpipe exhaust and a ventilated bonnet. Inside it benefits from premium two-tone leather seats featuring contrasting stitching, a 12-speaker Meridian sound system, piano black or carbon trim, as well as embossed “R” badging. The car’s suspension has been retuned, while the Dynamic Stability Control system has been recalibrated. It also sports an electronic rear differential and a new steering system.

At its heart is a V8 5.0-liter supercharged engine capable of outputting 550 HP (405 kW) and 502 lb-ft (680 Nm) of torque. It is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox propelling the high-performance sedan to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.4 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 174 mph (280 km/h) which is electronically limited.

The 2014 Jaguar XJR is capable of returning 18 mpg US (24.4 mpg UK or 11.6 liters / 100 km) while CO2 emissions stand at 270 g/km.
