Jaguar Project 7 concept announced

The Jaguar Project 7 Concept has been revealed online ahead of a public debut which will occur this weekend at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed. It was developed over a period of four months and as you can see it’s based on the F-Type but with a D-Type-inspired rear fairing and an integrated rollover hoop. It has also gained a restyled front bumper, bigger grille, as well as several components made from carbon fiber. Other changes include 20-inch alloys shod in Pirelli P Zero tires, together with a rear wing. Inside it has diamond-quilted leather upholstery, composite racing seat, carbon fiber trim and a helmet holder.

Power comes from a V8 5.0-liter supercharged engine unleashing 550 HP (405 kW) and a peak torque of 502 lb-ft (680 Nm). This is connected to an 8-speed Quickshift gearbox which enables the Project 7 concept to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.2 seconds and an electronically-limited top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h).
