2014 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG could have 630 HP and 1,000 Nm
Approximately two weeks ago, Mercedes-Benz officially launched the 2014 S63 AMG which will probably set a new standard as far as high-performance luxury sedans are concerned. They are not done with the hot 2014 S-Class as they have another model in the pipeline in the form of the S65 AMG which apparently will be available on order next January. Mercedes-Benz will remove the V8 5.5-liter twin-turbo engine of the S63 AMG and replac it with a larger V12 6.0-liter outputting somewhere in the region of 630 HP (463 kW) and 737 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque.
The engine will work together with a seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT and will run the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) journey in 4 seconds, while fuel consumption is estimated around the figure of 11.6 liters / 100 km (24.3 mpg UK or 20 mpg US). The vehicle will allegedly be available with the Magic Body Control system which has a stereo camera installed in the windscreen. This will automatically scan the incoming road and based on the findings will tweak suspension damping to individual or multiple wheels in just a fraction of a second as a method to improve ride comfort.
Deliveries of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG are rumored to kick off in March.
