MINI has disclosed U.S. pricing details for the 2014 Cooper Hardtop which has a starting price of $19,950 if we don’t take into consideration the $795 destination and handling charge. The vehicle is programmed to go on sale this spring and will be offered as standard with a six-speaker sound system, ambient lightning and a leather-covered sport steering wheel. Other than that, the base MINI will be fitted with 15-inch alloy wheels as well as an air conditioning system. Opt for the $23,600 Cooper S and you also get black checkered trim, sport seats and 16-inch alloys.
Engine options include a 3-cylinder 1.5-liter TwinPower Turbo with 134 bhp and 170 lb-ft which will allow the car to do 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 7.3 seconds en route to a top speed of 130 mph (209 km/h). The Cooper S has a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo with 189 bhp and 221 lb-ft, enough oomph for a 6.4 sprint and a 146 mph (235 km/h) top speed.
