Renault is working on a range-topping Gordini version of the Clio which will sit on top of the RS version. A recent report is saying the car will be out in 2014 and is rumored to pack a turbo 1.6-liter engine which will generate somewhere in the region of 230 HP (169 kW) and a peak torque of 210 lb-ft (285 Nm) which would make it 30 HP (22 kW) and 33 lb-ft (51 Nm) more powerful than the aforementioned Clio RS. Aside from being more powerful, the Gordini version is said to weigh 55 lbs (25 kg) less so should weigh about 2,588 lbs (1,175 kg).
The 2014 Renault Clio RS Gordini will sit on 18-inch Radical White rims and will feature a -10mm lowered Cup chassis. All these changes should enable the hot hatch to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) before hitting a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h), making it significantly quicker than the Clio RS which does 0-62 mph in 6.7 and reaches 143 mph (230 km/h).
Expect goodies such as Alcantara/black leather steering wheel, black/blue seatbelts, R-Link with RS Monitor, real carbon fiber inserts, Gordini-branded bespoke floor mats and alloy pedals. The entire package will cost you around 28,000 to 28,500 euros.
