2014 Toyota Vios launched

This week at the Bangkok Motor Show the 2014 Vios was launched by Toyota. The model is aimed towards first-time car buyers and borrows some of the styling cues seen on the Yaris and Verso.

The standard model looks pretty plain while the higher-spec variants come with 16-inch alloy wheels, projector beam headlights and a chrome trim.

The sedan has a 2,550 mm wheelbase and has the following dimensions: 4,410 mm long; 1,700 mm wide and 1,475 mm tall. It will be manufactured in Thailand and will be sold in more than eighty countries worldwide.

Inside the cabin we find a stylish appearance and surprisingly decent materials, despite the fact that this car is slotted in the lower tier. It sports some appealing gauges, a 4-speaker sound system with support for MP3/AUX/USB and metallic accents.

Under the hood it has a 4-cylinder, 1.5-liter engine producing 109 HP (80 kW) and a peak torque of 104 lb-ft (141 Nm). As standard, this engine is connected to a 5-speed manual gearbox while more premium versions can be ordered with a 4-speed automatic.
