At the beginning of the year Chevrolet unveiled the 2015 Corvette Z06 and now they have released final specifications for what will likely remain the range-topping version of the C7 generation. Its beating heart is a supercharged LT4 6.2-liter V8 engine equipped with a Eaton 1.7-liter supercharger which enables the motor to develop an impressive 650 bhp at 6,400 rpm and a maximum torque of 880 Nm available at 3,600 rpm. These numbers make the Corvette Z06 the most powerful production car ever launched by General Motors, a car which will go effectively on sale in the fourth quarter of the year.
The engine offers 619 Nm of the torque from idle while 847 Nm can be had at only 2,800 rpm. Output generated by the eight-cylinder engine is delivered to the wheels with help from a six-speed manual transmission offered as standard or an optional all-new paddle-shift eight-speed automatic gearbox.
