2015 Ford Focus ST facelift gets diesel engine
The Blue Oval company has just unveiled the 2015 Focus ST which comes with slightly altered bumpers along with a redesigned hood and slimmer headlights while the 18-inch rims and fog lights are also new. On the inside there’s a restyled flat-bottomed steering wheel, better climate controls and an updated center stack. Ford has also installed a different center console which has a media bin that incorporates a USB charger. Other changes include a retuned suspension with sportier shock absorbers and new front springs. The power steering system has also been improved along with the torque vectoring control system.
Motivation is provided by a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine rated at 250 PS (183 kW) and 360 Nm (265 lb-ft) which allows the Focus ST to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 6.5 seconds on its way onto a top speed of 154 mph (247 km/h). The engine has gained a stop/start system which allows the model to return 34.5 mpg US with corresponding CO2 emissions of 158 g/km
There’s also a new 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter TDCi diesel with 185 PS (136 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) which grants the facelifted Focus ST with a sprint in 8.1 seconds and a 135 mph (217 km/h) top speed. This version returns 53.4 mpg US and has 114 g/km CO2 emissions.
