Honda has taken the wraps off the CR-V facelift in European specification ahead of the model’s public debut scheduled for tomorrow at the Paris Motor Show. Visual tweaks are subtle yet refined and you can notice there are updated front & rear bumpers, sleeker headlights with LED technology, restyled front fog lights, a chrome bar connecting the LED taillights, along with other minor improvements on the sides. Honda hasn’t released any images with the interior cabin but expect the changes to be moderate at best.
Gone is the old 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine as this is being replaced by a four-cylinder 1.6-liter i-DTEC outputting 160 HP and a maximum torque of 350 Nm. It can be had only on the four-wheel drive variant and will work with a standard six-speed manual gearbox, cutting CO2 emissions by 11 percent to 130 g/km. Honda is introducing a new nine-speed automatic transmission on the four-wheel drive version which has lowered emissions by 20 percent to 135 g/km.
The 1.6-liter i-DTEC is also offered with 120 HP in the front-wheel drive CR-V where it works with the aforementioned six-speed manual where it emits 117 g/km. The gasoline engine will be offered with the manual and the old five-speed auto.
