2015 Mitsubishi Triton breaks cover

The 2015 Mitsubishi Triton has made its world premiere this week in Thailand where it’s already available on sale. The model was previewed by the GR-HEV concept and comes with familiar styling cues including a prominent front grille and a curvaceous body including an interesting bed as well as LED-infused headlights together with newly designed taillights. The interior cabin is somewhat modest but the higher specification models get metallic accents, a glossy black trim, leather upholstery and a seven-inch touchscreen display part of the infotainment system. Also available is a three-spoke steering wheel and a rotary controller for the four-wheel drive system.

The 2015 Mitsubishi Triton will be offered with a variety of engines including a gasoline 2.4-liter unit rated at 128 HP and 194 Nm. There’s also a 2.4-liter turbodiesel producing 181 HP and 430 Nm, followed by a 2.5-liter turbodiesel generating 128 HP and 240 Nm. The same engine can also be had with a higher output specification producing 178 HP and a maximum torque of 400 Nm.
Mitsubishi is providing a 5- or 6-speed manual gearbox and a five-speed automatic, but the availability of these depends on the engine selection.
The 2015 Triton will eventually be commercialized in around 150 countries from all over the world.
