2015 Volkswagen Phaeton facelift revealed in China
The 2015 Volkswagen Phaeton has been introduced in China with a series of modest revisions. Work started at the front fascia where we notice some minor graphics tweaks to the bi-xenon headlights that now have a darker trim while the front grilles now feature more chrome than before. We should also mention the heated electrically-folding side mirrors incorporating LED indicators, along with revised LED taillights, insulated windows and a slide/tilt automatic electrically-operated sunroof featuring a wind deflector.
On the inside there’s more wood trim, a DYNAUDIO Temptation audio system, 8-inch touchscreen color display part of the infotainment system, along with a rear-seat entertainment system encompassing two 10.2-inch displays.
Underneath the hood there’s a FSI V6 3.0-liter engine producing 250 PS and a maximum torque of 310 Nm while a larger FSI V6 3.6-liter unit churns 280 PS and 370 Nm. If this isn’t enough, the 2015 Volkswagen Phaeton is also available with a beefier V8 4.2-liter engine developing 335 PS and 430 Nm. Regardless of engine choice, all of them are mated to a 6-speed transmission and a 4MOTION all-wheel drive system.
Volkswagen has previously announced a second generation Phaeton is in the pipeline and will be out in 2-3 years.
