2016 Buick Encore Sport Touring announced

The Buick Encore Sport Touring has made its debut for the 2016 model year and it comes with a brand new engine. It gets a four-cylinder, 1.4-liter turbocharged motor sourced from the new Opel Astra and in this application it generates an estimated 153 bhp and 177 lb-ft of torque. The engine’s power is channeled to the wheels with help from a six-speed automatic transmission.

Set to go on sale sometime this fall in United States, the 2016 Buick Encore Sport Touring will also have some cosmetic tweaks such as the winged rear spoiler, 18-inch rims and door handles painted in the same color as the rest of the body. Inside the cabin it will feature the Convenience package which includes a dual-zone climate control system, 120-volt power outlet, an auto-dimming rearview mirror as well as rear cross traffic alert, remote start, side blind zone alert and fog lamps.

Also available for those who are willing to pay more are the moonroof, navigation system, premium Bose sound system and an all-wheel drive setup. All versions of the 2016 Encore get four-wheel disc brakes, rearview camera, heated mirrors, electric power steering along with 10 airbags and a fold-flat front passenger seat while the cabin has enough space for five people and up to 48.4 cubic feet of cargo.
