2016 Infiniti Q50 introduced with twin-turbo V6
The 2016 Infiniti Q50 is here and ready to show its newly developed V6 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine. The motor is capable of producing 300 hp (224 kW) and a maximum torque of 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) which is more than decent. However, should the power not suffice, there’s a stronger configuration of the same motor with 400 hp (298 kW) and 475 Nm (350 lb-ft). Infiniti is also adding a 4-cylinder 2.0-liter turbo engine that pumps out 208 hp (155 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft). You can also get it as a hybrid with a V6 3.5-liter working with an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. This one will reward you with a combined output of 360 hp (268 kW).
Regardless of engine choice, the 2016 Infiniti Q50 comes exclusively with a 7-speed automatic gearbox that has a manual shift mode and comes with paddle shifters mounted on the steering column. At an additional cost, these engines can send the power to an all-wheel drive arrangement to improve traction.
There’s not much going on in terms of design updates. But the 400 bhp model has bespoke 19-inch rims and different exhaust tips. Owners will be able to get the Q50 with a new Premium Plus Package adding a split-folding rear seat, electrically-adjustable steering wheel, heated steering wheel, and heated front seats. It also has power lumbar support for the driver’s seat, auto-dimming exterior mirrors and the Infiniti InTouch infotainment system.
