The 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid has arrived at the New York Auto Show and will hit dealerships this fall. Looking instantly recognizable, the hybrid crossover mixes up a 4-cylinder 2.5-liter conventional engine with an eCVT gearbox and an electric on-demand all-wheel drive system. The latter encompasses a rear-mounted electric motor which sends the instant torque to the rear axle whenever the additional traction is needed. Unfortunately, Toyota has not released performance specifications but they did say the model has “more horsepower and better acceleration” compared to the regular RAV4.
Other details about the 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid are scare at the moment, but we do know the crossover will ride on bespoke 17-inch alloy wheels and is going to be commercialized in XLE and Limited trim. Customers will have to choose from one of the following exterior paint schemes: Super White, Blizzard Pearl, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Classic Silver Metallic, Black Sand Pearl and a new BLUE.
