After an online reveal about a week ago, Opel is currently exhibiting the Astra OPC EXTREME at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. It’s actually the fastest and most powerful road-legal Astra ever as a result of an uprated 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbo engine outputting more than 300 bhp. Aside from the tremendous power, the Astra has lost 100 kg compared to the regular OPC variant thanks to a carbon fiber hood, roof, spoiler, bumper and front diffuser. In addition, the car has received six-piston Brembo brake system with 370mm ventilated front discs while the output is sent to the front axle through a six-speed manual gearbox.
The Opel Astra OPC EXTREME sits on 19-inch rims shod in 245/35 tires that were created exclusively for the concept. The German marque has announced a limited production run is programmed for next year and they will make between 50 and 300 cars, depending on demand. The car could be introduced at next year’s Geneva Motor Show.
