Cadillac offers free 240-volt charger for early ELR buyers
Early buyers of the Cadillac ELR will receive for free a 240-volt home charging station to sweeten the deal since the vehicle has an exaggerated starting price of $75,995 for what is essentially a more upscale coupe version of the Chevrolet Volt which is a whopping $41,000 cheaper. With this charger the battery pack of the car will be recharged in approximately five hours while when using a 120V travel charger it will take between 12.5 to 18 hours to fill the 16.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The bundled free charger also comes with free installation so the clients won’t have to pay extra.
The 2014 Cadillac ELR is motivated by a 1.4-liter engine generator working together with an electric motor to offer a combined output of 217 bhp and 295 lb-ft. It will do 33 mpg US in the combined cycle while in EV mode it will return 82 MPGe. When used as a hybrid it will do the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 7.8 seconds while in EV mode it needs 8.8 seconds.
