Jaguar F-Pace prototype introduced as Team Sky support vehicle

The Jaguar F-Pace prototype will be performing as a support vehicle for Team Sky at this year’s Tour de France. Inside the car are going to be the Team Sky’s sports director, mechanic, doctor and a senior team member while the trunk will carry spares for the bike, tools, along with drinks and energy gels. Jaguar promises the F-Pace will benefit from the most spacious trunk in its class and will feature a roomy cabin capable of hosting up to five people.

The vehicle will be wearing a specially designed soft wrap inspired by the Tour de France and road racing bikes while on the roof there’s going to be a newly developed quick-release bike racking solution with a telescopic clamp created by JLR’s Special Vehicle Operations.

The Jaguar F-Pace prototype is going to support Team Sky rider Chris Froome on Saturday during the inaugural race of the 2015 Tour de France during the individual time trial that will start in Utrecht, The Netherland and then go towards south to Belgium on a twisting route which will be 13.7 km long.

Jaguar has previously announced the production version of the F-Pace will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show programmed for September while sales will kick off early next year.
