It was about four months ago when Jaguar presented the XKR-S GT and at that point they said only 30 units will be made. Fast forward to this week and we find out production has been increased by 10 additional units which will all be going to the UK market, whereas the previous 30 have been sold in United States and Canada. All 40 cars are wearing a Polaris White paint job and are capable of doing a lap of the Nürburgring in seven minutes and forty seconds, which means the XKR-S GT is the quickest road-legal Jaguar around the track.
Motivation for the 2014 XKR-S GT comes from a V8 5.0-liter supercharged mill outputting an impressive 550 HP (404 kW) and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) of torque. The entire output is sent to the rear axle with help from a 6-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Thanks to this setup, the car will do 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.9 seconds before hitting a top speed of 186 mph (299 km/h) which has been electronically limited by the British marque.
These ten units are available in the UK for 135,000 pounds each, with deliveries commencing in October.
