2014 Audi RS Q3 breaks cover

Audi has prepared the first ever RS variant of a Q model and it will get its public debut in a couple of weeks at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The 2014 RS Q3 comes with a more aggressive body kit featuring redesigned front and rear bumpers, honeycomb grille inserts and updated side skirts.

It also boasts a rear diffuser, roof-mounted spoiler, matte aluminum trim, elliptical tailpipe, high performance brakes featuring black 8-piston calipers, 25mm reduced ride height and various styles of 19- and 20-inch alloy wheels to choose from.

Moving to the interior, the 2014 Audi RS Q3 has Alcantara-wrapped sport seats, alloy pedals, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, RS-specific MMI infotainment system, carbon fiber trim, WLAN hotspot, GPS navigation and a Bose audio system with 14 speakers. Some of the equipment is available only as an optional.

Under the hood there’s a 5-cylinder, 2.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine generating 310 HP (228 kW) and a peak torque of 310 lb-ft (420 Nm). Linked to a 7-speed S tronic gearbox and the firm’s quattro AWD system, the hot crossover will reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.5 seconds and it will keep on going until it hits an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). Fuel consumption is rated at 8.8 liters / 100 km (32.1 mpg UK or 26.7 mpg US), with CO2 emissions standing at 206 g/km.
