Ford EcoSport arrives in Geneva

The 2013 Ford EcoSport reached European territory last month when it made its appearance at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, while now it is being showcased at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. This is Ford’s new SUV based on the Fiesta platform which will be slotted below the Kuga as a cheaper and smaller sport utility vehicle.

Under the hood it will get a 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine pumping out 125 HP (92 kW), as well as a 1.5-liter with 110 HP (81 kW). There’s also the 1.5-liter diesel engine rated with an output of 90 HP (66 kW).

This will be one of the first models offered by Ford in Europe with the firm’s SYNC AppLink system that offers supported for smartphone apps controlled via voice.

The 2013 Ford EcoSport will also feature the SYNC Emergency Assistance that will automatically connect passenger with the emergency services after an accident. Needless to say, this is done in the language spoken in the region where the accident occurred, while the necessary location information is grabbed by the car’s GPS system.
