Saleen 351 Mustang prototype revealed

A prototype of the 351 Mustang was showcased by Saleen at Fabulous Fords at Knott’s Berry Farm in California last weekend. The car featured a striking Orange County Orange paint that was specifically developed for this model. What we know so far is that the prototype is powered by a V8 5751cc (351 cubic inch) engine capable of producing no less than 700 bhp (522 kW) and a maximum torque of 887 Nm (655 lb-ft). Those ponies are transferred to the wheel with the help of a six-speed transmission that has a performance clutch system and a 3.73:1 final drive ratio.

The Saleen 351 Mustang prototype was riding on 20-inch alloys wrapped around in high performance rubbers, while stopping the car efficiently were 15-inch brake discs. Other highlights of the car include carbon fiber front and rear splitters, a carbon fiber rear diffuser and a functional butterfly bonnet scoop.
