Ford introduces all-new 2015 Edge

This is Ford’s second-gen Edge which represents a global model that will be sold in more than 100 countries. It draws its styling cues from the namesake concept and at the same time it’s design is a departure from the outgoing model. The US version will be powered by a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine generating 245 bhp and 270 lb-ft. Customers will also have the possibility of opting for a V6 2.7-liter EcoBoost rated at more than 300 bhp. The final engine choice will be a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 and all of them are coupled to a 6-speed automatic gearbox with a SelectShift manual mode.

The front-wheel drive 2015 Ford Edge will come with a newly developed MacPherson front suspension while at the back it will boast an independent integral-link suspension. Compared to the outgoing model, the new Edge’s body stiffness has increased by 26 percent. Also on the menu is an active park assist system, adaptive electric steering, front and rear parking sensors, together with a 180-degree camera, heated and ventilated seats and inflatable rear seatbelts.


The 2015 Edge also gets an active glovebox knee airbag and an 8-inch LCD with SYNC and MyFord Touch support. There’s also a 47.7-inch long Panoramic Vista Roof as well as a revised center stack and a dual display instrument cluster.
