Volvo updates V40 and V40 Cross Country

The Volvo V40 and V40 Cross Country have received a series of upgrades from the Swedish manufacturer. Both of them can now be ordered with a new 4-cylinder, 1.6-liter engine churning 120 HP (88 kW) and 177 lb-ft (240 Nm) of torque. With this engine, the cars are capable of returning 44.3 mpg US (53.3 mpg UK or 5.3 liters / 100 km), with 124 g/km of CO2 emissions when the cars are fitted with the manual gearbox. The D2 engine rated at 115 HP (85 kW) emits less CO2 now as it is rated at 88 g/km for the V40 and 99 g/km for the V4 Cross Country when the cars feature the 6-speed manual. With the optional automatic, V40 will do 102 g/km and V40 Cross Country 108 g/km.

Those who are interested in the Volvo V40 Cross Country powered by either the T4 with 180 HP (132 kW) or the T5 with 254 HP (187 kW) can now get the car with a new optional AWD system. Other changes worth mentioning include the Sensus Connected Touch infotainment system which packs Internet connectivity as well as a generous seven-inch touchscreen display.
